This course is an introduction to single variable calculus. It begins with a discussion of functions, what they are and how to work with them. This discussion includes a review of trigonometry and basic algebraic properties. Next, the course explores limits and continuity. We will learn the definition of a limit, how to evaluate limits, and how to evaluate continuity. The course then introduces the derivative of a function. We will learn how to understand and interpret the derivative by examining the definition. Next, the course examines the various methods of differentiation and looks at applications of the derivative. The course ends with a thorough introduction to the integral, including the fundamental theorem of calculus, techniques of integration and applications of integration.
